Our local chapter is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh SCORE has a team of roughly 74 individuals that support local business owners from a wide variety of topics. Are you interested in joining a team that strives to help change lives?

Mark Wilson

Mark Wilson, Chapter Chair

Mark Wilson has been with SCORE Raleigh since 2014 and has earned honors as one of the Chapters' top mentors for the last two years. He retired in 2017 having spent 30 years in the IT industry as a quota-carrying sale rep and sales manager. During that time he also owned a number of small businesses including a software company, several self-service car washes, and a meal assembly operation. Mark brings to the Chapter Chair position an in-depth understanding of the type of clients we serve and a fresh perspective on ways to enhance the operations of our chapter.

Thomas Laco

Thomas Laco, Treasurer

Thomas Laco is a marketing expert with experience in small company start-ups and growth, plus corporate experience in Brand/Product Management including branding, new product development, advertising, packaging, pricing, strategic planning, promotions, forecasting, and analysis, etc. Tom has proven record of success in developing and introducing new products and implementing strategic plans which resulted in increased sales and market share growth. Tom's specialties include New Company Start-up, Brand/Product Management, New Product Development and Introduction, Advertising, Promotion, Pricing, and Product Line Rationalization.

Patti Williams

Patti Williams, Community Relations

I am currently CEO of Home Care Resources Now- a home care agency consulting company. I am experienced in Home Health Care and General Business Operations, Business Planning for Financing, Government Regulations-Contracting, and Human Resources management. Past CEO of NC Home Care Agency for 19+ years which provided In-Home Aide services in six (6) counties. Experienced in managing all aspects of the company-human resources, management, insurance needs, and client relations. Employment was provided to more than 300 employees under my leadership while maintaining an excellent In-Home Care Provider service record. Case Management responsibilities for clients included coordinating services with Health Care entities and County-State Social Service Agencies to ensure continuity of care. Also, coordinated with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies for Client services and reimbursement. I have personal experience with obtaining business financing and preparing to successfully sell a business.

Erica Emerson

Erica Emerson, Client/Member Communications

Erica Emerson is an experienced business executive with both global multinationals and VC-backed start-ups with more than 20 years in various IT management roles from Engineering to Sales Management. She owns and operates an IT consulting company that provides guidance on strategy, business, and organizational development; with an emphasis on IT business process re-engineering, integration, Go-To-Market strategies, sales, risk identification, M&A activities, and coaching. Along with her professional career, Erica serves on the Advisory Board for Data Collaboration Alliance, Cloud Advisors, and Agile Literacy LLC. She is a CSM, spending time training to be a coach and volunteers for the National Center for Women & Information Technology and SCORE as a mentor for both organizations in addition to being an Executive Board Member of the Raleigh SCORE Chapter.

Angie Arrington

Angie Arrington, Fundraising

Dr. Angie Arrington, DSL is the Founder/CEO of Evolve Consulting, LLC, a management consulting firm. She is a 13-time business owner who has primarily bootstrapped all of her business ventures. Dr. Angie is a passionate visionary and strategic leader who is dedicated to helping organizations and individuals evolve. Dr. Angie is a Doctor of Strategic Leadership with a concentration in Global Consulting and Executive Coaching. She completed the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching Program in 2018. In 2019, Dr. Angie became a Certified SCORE Mentor. She focuses on women business owners, specialized programming and workshops, and business planning. Earlier this year, Dr. Angie was featured on News14 as a SCORE client and Mentor.

Mary Wolf

Mary Wolf, New Volunteer Coordinator

Mary Wolf, MA, is CEO of Mary Wolf Enterprises, LLC, now celebrating its 20th anniversary. She has 25+ years of experience within Fortune 500 companies, such as GE, Times Mirror Corporation, Rhone-Poulenc and Mercer Consulting, where she was Vice President of Organization Development, a strategic leadership role for talent development. She served as an Executive Delegate to China and her work has taken her all over the world. She has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal for her business perspective. As a consultant, coach and trainer, she provides services which directly increase an organization’s Bottom-line with lasting results. She prides herself on bridging the gap between knowing and doing, and her work creates the clear path to business success by aligning talent with company initiatives.

David Grant, Membership

David graduated from the University of Toronto in Computer Science. During his working career, he has held many manufacturing assignments as Plant Manager, VP of Materials, and VP of the Global Supply Chain, and IT assignments as VP Systems Development, VP operations, and CIO. All of these were with large companies. Since his retirement in 2003, he has been very involved as CEO of a company that tracks people who have Alzheimer's in Assisted Living homes, owned his own painting company, reorganized a major airline's repair operation, taught finance at NC State, and been a SCORE volunteer since 2008.
